Accessing the Pricing Tab

After you added items to the item kit by saving the changes you have made on the Items tab (for more information about the Items tab, see Item Kit Items Tab Guide), coreSTORE will automatically bring you to the Pricing tab, where you can manually set an overall price for all of the items in the item kit, and the overall price will be automatically divided between all of the items.

(Note: If you do not set an overall price, each individual item will be added to the sale at the same price that they would be if they were sold individually.)

Alternatively, if you are editing an existing item kit by clicking on the Edit button next to the item kit in the Item Kits list (for more information, see Item Kits Sub-Module Overview), you will initially be brought to the Item Kit Info tab (1). Click Pricing (2) to be brought to the Pricing tab.

[Note: If you need to return to the Item Kits sub-module of the Inventory module, either select the Inventory module from the sidebar or click the Done button (only available if editing an existing item kit).]

Pricing Tab Overview

(Note: To see the extra images mentioned in the field description, click on the blue letter in parentheses, for example "[as seen in the Appendix (image D)]". This will bring you to the Appendix of this article.)

  • Previous Item Kit (1): Depending on where the item kit you are adding/editing is located in the Item Kits list (see Item Kits Sub-Module Overview), you can move to the other item kits in the list by using the Previous/Next Item Kit buttons. Depending on the location of the item kit, you will see either the Previous Item Kit (1), Next Item Kit button, or both.
  • Cost Price (Without Tax) (2): Input the cost price of the item kit not including tax. If you want coreSTORE to automatically calculate a suggested cost price for the item kit based upon the items you added in the Items tab (see Item Kit Items Tab Guide), click the Calculate Suggested Price button (A).
  • Markup (3): If you have checked the Enable Mark Up Calculator checkbox in the Items section of the Store Config module (see Items Section Guide), you can use this field to input the markup percent for this item kit or use the arrows in the right side of the field to select a markup percent, and coreSTORE will automatically calculate the item kit's selling price (5) based off of what you input in this field (the calculator will not show if the checkbox has not been checked).
  • Margin (4): If you have checked the Enable Margin Calculator checkbox in the Items section of the Store Config module (see Items Section Guide), you can use this field to input the margin percent for this item kit or use the arrows in the right side of the field to select a margin percent, and coreSTORE will automatically calculate the item kit's selling price (5) based off of what you input in this field (the calculator will not show if the checkbox has not been checked).
  • Selling Price (5): Input the selling price (how much you are selling the item kit for in your store) of the item kit. If you want coreSTORE to automatically calculate a suggested selling price for the item kit based upon the items you added in the Items tab (see Item Kit Items Tab Guide), click the Calculate Suggested Price button (B).
  • Allow Price Override Regardless Of Permissions (6): Check this box if you want every employee to be able to change the price of the item kit when selling the item kit, regardless of whether that employee generally has the permission to do so or not.
  • Prices Include Tax (7): Check this box if the prices of the item kit include tax.
  • Only Allow Items To Be Sold In Whole Numbers (8): Check this box if you only want the item kit to be sold in whole numbers.
  • Change Cost Price During Sale (9): Check this box if you want to allow the cost price of the item kit to be changed during a sale.
  • Price Tier (10): If you have added price tiers in the Price Tiers section of the Store Config module (see Price Tiers Section Guide), they will be listed here (this field or fields will not show if you have not added any price tiers). Use this option if you want the item kit to have a different discount amount than the default as configured for each price tier in the Price Tierssection.
    • Input in the field (C) the amount of discount you want to be applicable to the item kit, depending on your selection in the drop-down list.
    • Select from the drop-down list [as seen in the Appendix (image D)] which type of discount you want to be applicable to the item kit (Fixed Price, Percent Off, Cost Plus Percent, or Cost Plus Fixed Amount).

  • Override Default Commission (11): Check this box if you want to customize commissions for this item kit, instead of using the default commission set in the Sales section of the Store Config module (see Sales Section Guide) or in the Employee Basic Information section of the New/Update Employee screen [checking this box expands the screen with option (12)].
  • Commission (12): Select from the drop-down list [as seen in the Appendix (image E)] if you want the commission to be based upon a Percentage or a Fixed Amount, and input the percentage or fixed amount in the field [this option will only show if (11) is checked, and selecting Percentage from the drop-down list expands the screen with option (13)].
  • Commission Percent Calculation Method (13): Select from the drop-down list [as seen in the Appendix (image F)] if you want the commission percentage to be calculated based upon the Selling Price of the item kit or Profit of the sale [this option will only show if (11) is checked, and if you select Percentage in the drop-down list of (12)].
  • Override Default Tax (14): Check this box if the item kit is tax exempt [do not input any information or check any boxes in options (15) or (16) to have the item kit be tax exempt] or if you want to apply a particular tax group or tax to the item kit instead of the default tax group as selected in the Taxes section of the Store Config module (see Taxes Section Guide) [checking this box expands the screen with options (15) and (16)].
  • Tax Group (15): Select from the drop-down list which Tax Group (configured in the Taxes section of the Store Config module, see Taxes Section Guide) you want to apply to the item kit [this option will only show if (14) is checked].
  • Tax 1/2 (16): Use if you do not want to apply a tax group to the item kit and instead want to create custom taxes for the item kit [this option will only show if (14) is checked].
    • Name (G): Input the name of the custom tax.
    • Tax Percent (H): Input the tax percentage of the custom tax.
    • Cumulative (J): Check this box ONLY if your store is in a jurisdiction that requires a cumulative tax rate on sales (usually, leave this box unchecked). For more information on how this works, see coreTIP Tuesday - Multiple Tax Rate Setup (Note: For this option, you can only check this box if you add 2 custom taxes, no more and no less).
    • Show More (K): If you want to add more than 2 custom taxes, click Show More to expand the screen, allowing you to add up to 5 total custom taxes for the item kit [if you click Show More, you will not be able to check (J)].
  • Save (17): Make sure to click the Save button when adding an item kit. This will automatically save the prices you have added to the item kit and bring up the Images tab (for more information about this tab, see Item Kit Images Tab Guide) of the New Item Kit screen. If you are editing an existing item kit, clicking the Save button is also important. However, instead of automatically bringing you to the Images tab, it will save your changes then pop-up a dialog asking if you would like to continue editing the item kit by clicking the Continue Editing button (dismissing the dialog, keeping you on the Pricing tab of the Edit Item Kit screen), or return to the Item Kits sub-module by clicking on the Return to Item Kits button.
