Step by Step Guide to Create Custom Unsubscribe Links in coreILLA

Created by Carrie Despaux, Modified on Tue, 03 Oct 2023 at 11:46 AM by Carrie Despaux

  1. Create a landing page with messaging you want people to see when they unsubscribe

    • Create a landing page that communicates the message you'd like to convey to individuals who choose to unsubscribe.
  2. Use the URL to the landing page from Step 1 to make a Trigger Link

    • Utilize the URL from the landing page to create a Trigger Link. Learn more about Domain Setup within the coreILLA interface.

  3. Replace the default unsubscribe link URL with the Trigger Link

    • Navigate to Marketing > Trigger links > Add Link.

    • Name the link "Unsubscribe Link" and paste the URL of the funnel unsubscribe page.
  4. Create a workflow that uses "Trigger Link Clicked" as the condition and "Set Contact DND" as the action

    • Navigate to Automation > Create workflow.
    • Start from scratch and create a new workflow named "Trigger Link Unsubscribe."
    • Add a new workflow trigger for "Trigger Link Clicked" and select the Unsubscribe Link.
    • Add an action to "Set Contact DND" and enable DND for the email channel specifically.
    • Save and publish the workflow.
  5. Now you can integrate the trigger link as the unsubscribe link in the email footer

    • Highlight the text where you want to insert the unsubscribe link.
    • Click on the link icon and select "Unsubscribe Link" from the link list.
    • Save your changes.

Now, anyone who clicks on the trigger link will be marked DND (Do Not Disturb) for the email channel, effectively unsubscribing them from your email communications.
