How to make a page visible only to a user group

The access checkboxes on the Security tab in Website > Pages are processed as an "AND" - meaning that a user has to meet ALL of the conditions in that row in order to see the page. 

 

To add an OR condition, add multiple rows to the Access grid.

 

In practice this means that only users with the highest level of access can see the page:

 

  • If the admin box is checked, only administrators will be able to see the page.  Non-administrator users and the public will not have access, even if those boxes are checked.
  • If the users box is checked, anonymous users will not have access to the page, even if the public box is checked.
  • To make a page visible to non-logged in users, ONLY the public box should be checked.

Note that the clients checkbox has a slightly different function; if the clients box is checked, it means that other coreFORCE customers on the same server will be able to see that page.  Normally only pages that are part of the Coreware backend or retail store system should have the clients box checked.

 

In the following example, only logged in users in the Wholesale group and/or the Wholesale type will be able to see the page:
