The pre-configured " Order Ready for Pickup" email in coreFORCE has some particular placeholders that can only be filled out in the email if sent correctly.
If this email is not sent correctly, your customer will receive something like this where the placeholders are not filled in:
his often results from attempting to set a Customer Email directly into an Order Status like this:

Most of the time, every transactional email (your order is shipped, etc.) is going to be sent automatically without this needing to be set in order status.
In the case of sending the "Order Ready for Pickup" email, there are two options.
1. There is a preference with the code ORDER_DASHBOARD_PICKUP_OPTION. If this preference is set, it will add buttons to the orders dashboard (just like the pickup dashboard). If you use these buttons, the email will be sent.
2. You can set it up as a system action to trigger based on order status being set.
