Pricing Tab Overview

  • Previous Item (1): Depending on where the item you are adding/editing is located in the Items list (see Items Sub-Module Overview), you can move to the other items in the list by using the Previous/Next Item buttons. Depending on the location of the item, you will see either the Previous Item (1), Next Item button, or both.
  • Cost Price (Without Tax) (2): Input the cost price of the item not including tax (this field is required).
  • Markup (3): If you have checked the Enable Mark Up Calculator checkbox in the Items section of the Store Config module (see Items Section Guide), you can use this field to input the markup percent for this item or use the arrows in the right side of the field to select a markup percent, and coreSTORE will automatically calculate the item's selling price (5) based off of what you input in this field (the calculator will not show if the checkbox has not been checked).
  • Margin (4): If you have checked the Enable Margin Calculator checkbox in the Items section of the Store Config module (see Items Section Guide), you can use this field to input the margin percent for this item or use the arrows in the right side of the field to select a margin percent, and coreSTORE will automatically calculate the item's selling price (5) based off of what you input in this field (the calculator will not show if the checkbox has not been checked).
  • Selling Price (5): Input the selling price (how much you are selling the item for in your store) of the item (this field is required).
  • List Price (6): Input the list price (the selling price that the manufacturer recommends) of the item.
  • MAP Price (7): Input the MAP price [Minimum Advertised Pricing; the lowest price your store can advertise (not sell), the item for in your store] of the item.
  • Consignment Cost Percent (8): If you have checked the Consignment Items? checkbox in the Items section of the Store Config module (see Items Section Guide), input the consignment cost percent of the item (this field will not show if the checkbox has not been checked).
  • Consignment Fee (9): If you have checked the Consignment Items? checkbox in the Items section of the Store Config module (see Items Section Guide), input the consignment fee of the item (this field will not show if the checkbox has not been checked).
  • Price Tier (10): If you have added price tiers in the Price Tiers section of the Store Config module (see Price Tiers Section Guide), they will be listed here (this field or fields will not show if you have not added any price tiers). Use this option if you want the item to have a different discount amount than the default as configured for each price tier in the Price Tierssection.
    • Select from the drop-down list [as seen in the Appendix (image A)] which type of discount you want to be applicable to the item (Fixed Price, Percent Off, Cost Plus Percent, or Cost Plus Fixed Amount).
    • Input in the field (B) the amount of discount you want to be applicable to the item, depending on your selection in the drop-down list.
  • Promo Price (11): If you want the item to be included in a promo, input the promo price for the item.
  • Promo Start Date (12): Input the date you want the promo to start or use the calendar tool [as seen in the Appendix (image C)] to select the start date.
  • Promo End Date (13): Input the date you want the promo to end or use the calendar tool [as seen in the Appendix (image C)] to select the end date.

  • Price Is % Of Subtotal (14): If you want the price of the item to be priced at a percentage of the subtotal of a sale, input the percentage.
  • Price Is % Of Previous Item Price (15): If you want the price of the item to be priced at a percentage of the price of the previous item in a sale, input the percentage.
  • Minimum Price (16): Input the minimum price of the item.
  • Variations (17): If you added variations to this item in the Variations tab (see Item Variations Tab Guide), you can price each variation differently.
    • Variation Name (D): The name of the variation is listed here.
    • Cost Price (E): Input the cost price of the variation.
    • Selling Price (F): Input the selling price of the variation.
    • Promo Price (G): Input the promo price of the variation.
    • Promo Start Date (H): Input the date you want the promo to start or use the calendar tool [as seen in the Appendix (image H)] to select the start date.
    • Promo End Date (J): Input the date you want the promo to end or use the calendar tool [as seen in the Appendix (image J)] to select the end date.
  • Allow Price Override Regardless Of Permissions (18): Check this box if you want every employee to be able to change the price of the item when selling the item, regardless of whether that employee generally has the permission to do so or not.
  • Allow Item To Be Sold Below Cost Price (19): Check this box if you want to allow the item to be sold below the cost price of the item.
  • Prices Include Tax (20): Check this box if the prices of the item include tax.
  • Only Allow Items To Be Sold In Whole Numbers (21): Check this box if you only want the item to be sold in whole numbers.
  • Change Cost Price During Sale (22): Check this box if you want to allow the cost price of the item to be changed during a sale.

  • Override Default Commission (23): Check this box if you want to customize commissions for this item, instead of using the default commission set in the Sales section of the Store Config module (see Sales Section Guide) or in the Employee Basic Information section of the New/Update Employee screen (see KB article) [checking this box expands the screen with option (24)].
  • Commission (24): Select from the drop-down list [as seen in the Appendix (image K)] if you want the commission to be based upon a Percentage or a Fixed Amount, and input the percentage or fixed amount in the field [this option will only show if (23) is checked, and selecting Percentage from the drop-down list expands the screen with option (25)].
  • Commission Percent Calculation Method (25): Select from the drop-down list [as seen in the Appendix (image L)] if you want the commission percentage to be calculated based upon the Selling Price of the item or Profit of the sale [this option will only show if (23) is checked, and if you select Percentage in the drop-down list of (24)].
  • Override Default Tax (26): Check this box if the item is tax exempt [do not input any information or check any boxes in options (27) or (28) to have the item be tax exempt] or if you want to apply a particular tax group or tax to the item instead of the default tax group as selected in the Taxes section of the Store Config module (see Taxes Section Guide) [checking this box expands the screen with options (27) and (28)].
  • Tax Group (27): Select from the drop-down list which Tax Group (configured in the Taxes section of the Store Config module, see Taxes Section Guide) you want to apply to the item [this option will only show if (26) is checked].
  • Tax 1/2 (28): Use if you do not want to apply a tax group to the item and instead want to create custom taxes for the item [this option will only show if (26) is checked].
    • Name (M): Input the name of the custom tax.
    • Tax Percent (N): Input the tax percentage of the custom tax.
    • Cumulative (O): Check this box ONLY if your store is in a jurisdiction that requires a cumulative tax rate on sales (usually, leave this box unchecked). For more information on how this works, see coreTIP Tuesday - Multiple Tax Rate Setup (Note: For this option, you can only check this box if you add 2 custom taxes, no more and no less).
    • Show More (P): If you want to add more than 2 custom taxes, click Show More to expand the screen, allowing you to add up to 5 total custom taxes for the item [if you click Show More, you will not be able to check (O)].

  • Rental Rates (29): If you have checked the Rental Items? checkbox in the Items section of the Store Config module (see Items Section Guide), you can add rental rates for the item here (for more information on how to set up rentals, see coreSTORE Tips: Rentals video).
    • Sort (R): Using the arrow icons, you can change the order of the rental rates. Simply click on the arrow icon, hold down on your mouse, and drag the rental rate to where you want (For an example of how this works, see the steps in process: Modules Section Guide).
    • Description (S): Input a description for the rental rate.
    • Type (T): Select from the drop-down list [as seen in the Appendix (image T)] which unit of time you want to charge the rental based on (Minute, Hour, Day, Week, or Month).
    • Cost (U): Input the cost price of each rental per the unit of time you selected in (T).
    • Price (V): Input how much the rental will cost the customer per the unit of time you selected in (T).
    • Increment (W): Input the billing increment (how often the customer is charged the rental rate) per the unit of time you selected in (T).
    • Price Break (X): Input a price break {set up multiple tiers of pricing so that if a customer rents for a particular amount of time [per the unit of time you selected in (T)], they get a discount on the rental rate}.
    • Minimum (Y): Input the minimum charge (the least amount of rental time that a customer will be charged per rental; will be charged this amount even if they rented the item for less than this amount of time) per the unit of time you selected in (T).
    • Delete (Z): Click Delete to delete the rental rate.
    • Add Rental Rate (AA): Click Add Rental Rate to add a new rental rate.
  • Save (30): Make sure to click the Save button when adding or editing an item. This will save your changes then pop-up a dialog asking if you would like to continue editing the item by clicking the Continue Editing button (dismissing the dialog, keeping you on the Pricing tab of the Edit Item screen), or return to the Items sub-module by clicking on the Return to Items button.
