Fraud Prevention Recommended Settings

There is no way to completely prevent fraud and fraud attempts but there are a few different settings in coreFORCE that are recommended to help prevent it.

You can change all of these settings in Orders > Setup, under the Settings tab.  Using the filter at the top of the list, you can search for each of these in turn.

Capture at Shipment -set to True

-By default, the customer's payment method is charged at the time of purchase. This preference allows the store management to only authorize the payments at time of purchase. The order dashboard will then have a way to capture the payments, which needs to be done before shipments can take place.

No Guest Checkout -set to True

-By default customers are able to purchase from your site using minimal information, this setting requires all purchases to be made from a User Account

Allow only access from US and Canada -set to True

-By default anyone in the world can access the site, with this set to true the system will restrict access to the website to ONLY IP addresses in the US and Canada.

Use Order Captcha -set to True

-This setting requires a captcha to be filled in at the finalize screen of the checkout process

Always Require Signature -set to True

-Normally, signature is only required when purchasing an FFL product. This forces a signature to always be required.

Phone is always required -set to True

-Normally, the phone number is only required when an FFL product is ordered. This setting requires a phone number for every order.

Force Billing & Shipping addresses to be same -set to True

-By default the customer can enter a shipping address that is different than their billing address. Turning this preference on will force the billing and shipping addresses to be the same.
