How to Merge Inventory Data

Your inventory is organized into many different sets of data based upon different values. These sets can include a multitude of items. You may have to move all of the items included in one set of data based upon one value into another set of data based upon a different value. Instead of having to edit the values of each individual item separately, which, depending on the value, might take a very long time, you can instead merge an entire set of items from one set of data into another set of data using the Merge Data screen.

In order to get to the Merge Data screen, select the Inventory module (1) (which automatically brings you to the Items sub-module of the Inventory module), click on the "..." button (2), then select Merge Data (3).

Once on the Merge Data screen, you need to select from the Choose Data drop-down list (4) which type of data set you need to merge (Category, Manufacturer, or Caliber).

Next, select from the From drop-down list (5) which value you need to take the set of items out of, and from the To drop-down list (6) select which value you need to move the set of items into.

Note:

You will want to merge data FROM the value with the least information To the value with the most information.

If you need to completely delete the value that you are taking the set of items out of, check the Delete From Value checkbox (7).

In order to complete the merge, click the Process button (8). coreSTORE will automatically complete the merge and refresh the screen. Repeat steps (4) through (7) as many times as needed. Once you are done, click the Done button (9) to return to the Items sub-module of the Inventory module.
