If you have a report that you run often and you do not want to have to go to the Reports module and go through the full process (selecting what category the report you want falls under, selecting the kind of report you want to run, filling out the Report Options, then submitting to get the report) every time you need to run that report, you can favorite that report and have it auto-generated just by selecting it from your Dashboard.
