In order to add/edit a work order status, go to the Work Orders module, click on the "..." button (1), and select Manage Statuses (2), bringing you to the Manage Statuses screen.

In order to add a new work order status, click [Add Status] to see the Add Status pop-up window (3). In order to edit an existing work order status, click [Edit] next to the work order status you want to edit, which will show the Edit Status pop-up window (4).

The following options are exactly the same on both screens.

  • Name (A): Input the name of the work order status.
  • Description (B): Here you can input a description for the work order status.
  • Notify Customer Via Email (C): Check this box if you want the customer to be notified by email when their item enters the work order status.
  • Notify Customer Via SMS (D): Check this box if you want the customer to be notified by text message (SMS) when their item enters the work order status [in order to send text messages (SMS), you need to be signed up for Twilio and have it integrated into your coreSTORE, for more information see Setting Up SMS Capabilities].
  • Send to Supplier (E): Check this box if you want to send work orders in the status to the supplier. When a firearm is involved in a work order that enters this status, it will automatically be disposed to the supplier selected on the Edit Work Order screen (for more information about the Edit Work Order screen, see Edit Work Order Screen Guide).
  • Receive From Supplier (F): Check this box if you want to receive work orders in the status from the supplier. When a firearm is involved in a work order that enters this status, a brand new Bound Book record will be created showing that it was received from the supplier selected on the Edit Work Order screen (for more information about the Edit Work Order screen, see Edit Work Order Screen Guide).
  • Color (G): Use the color picker tool (as seen below) to choose the color of the work order status (work order statuses are color-coded for ease of recognizing where in the process a work order is currently in). Alternatively, if you know the color hex of the color that you want to use, you can input it here instead of using the color picker tool, for example #3498db [the color hex that represents the color of the color hex shown (#3498db)].
  • Sort Order (H): Input a sort priority number for the work order status. This number is used by coreSTORE to determine where in the statuses list this work order status will be placed [the order in which the work order statuses are listed in the statuses list is the same order as they are listed in the status summaries section of the Work Orders module (for more information about this section, see Work Orders Module Overview)]. For example, a sort priority number of 10 would place that work order status above/to the left of a work order status with a sort priority number of 20.
  • Save (J): Click the Save button to save the work order status.
