Question:
I have been updating the meta descriptions for each manufacturer so it shows on the manufacturer pages.
However the meta description is also being duplicated on the individual item descriptions.
Can you make it so the manufacturer meta description does not show on the individual item pages or page templates? For SEO reasons Google is seeing these pages as duplicate meta descriptions and not ranking the main manufacturer page as high as it should as it's showing those meta descriptions on each individual item.
Answer:
This is preference-controlled. In Mange Client Preferences, find the preference RETAIL_STORE_DO_NOT_ADD_MANUFACTURER_DESCRIPTION_TO_PRODUCTS and set it to true.
