How to use the NY background check in coreSTORE

If you are located in New York and your customer's address is also in New York State, coreSTORE will automatically display the NY background check button on the sale screen if they are purchasing Ammunition.

  • Create a New Sale > Ring up an Item > Add the customer's name, the NY button will be visible to run the background check


  • Click the NY button > Fill out the Required Information (Written in red font) > Click NYS Background Check, the system will take you to the NY background page


    Note:

    We are not going to have the social security recorded somewhere in our coreSTORE database this will only be used in the background check process and won't be able to save afterward

  • After clicking the NYS Background Check the system will take you to the NYS background page, all you do is click "Login" to access it, and then to transfer all the information from coreSTORE to your NYS page you will need to click the coreFFL extension (no need to enter the information manually), please check HERE if you need to download the extension.
