You are able to sell gift cards within the same sale transaction. To do this, you will need to be on the sales screen, then you will click on the 3 dot menu and click Sell Gift Card. You will then be prompted to enter the gift card number and the value.
On your sales screen, you will click on the 3 dot menu 
On the drop-down menu, you will click on Sell Gift Card 
Next, you will be directed to a page to fill in the Giftcard Number and Value. Once you enter this information, you will click Save
You will be redirected back to the sales screen, and you will see the Gift Card sale item
